17Apr, 2015

The last few weeks have finally brought us some long-awaited sunshine, just in time for the fabulously fun events of the spring and summer. Of course, the events season is one of our busiest here at Unistage and we’re proud to provide staging to some of the best events – the next being the Ribble Valley Jazz & Blues festival in Lancashire.

Taking place on the bank holiday weekend, between Thursday 30th April – Monday 4th May, the northern jazz festival is bound to attract all music fans.

Unistage are sponsoring the whole event, and having seen what’s in store throughout the four-day festival, we can assure you that all festival-goers will be in for a real treat!

Your guide to the four-day festival

The weekend will start with highly regarded British saxophonist Alan Skidmore, live on stage.

Alan will be joined by a terrific line-up including Pete King, Steve Melling and Andy Cleydhert who will pay homage to drummer Elvin Jones and the genuine legend of jazz, John Coltrane.

Saturday and Sunday will play host to some of the best in jazz, with Stacey Kent headlining Saturday’s jazz affair and the Andy Sheppard Quartet charming audiences on Sunday.

While Stacey’s platinum –selling album, Breakfast, make her a great Saturday headliner, the relaxed vibe of Andy’s saxophone tones make his set perfect for a lazy Sunday.

The festival is set to finish with a bang with Paul Rigby’s Northern Jazz Orchestra and Georgina Jackson celebrating the divas.

Perfect for big band enthusiasts and anyone who appreciates the big band favourites, this festival favourite will be a fitting conclusion for the fabulous Ribble Valley Jazz & Blues festival.

Of course, alongside the headline acts there will be lots more entertainment throughout the day, including performers, bands, entertainment and workshops, all of which you can get involved in.

To find out more about the event, or to buy tickets, visit the Ribble Valley Jazz & Blues festival website. Tickets will also be available on the door, but do be aware that the headline acts will likely sell out before the event.

We hope to see you there!
