As part of one of the last BSF funded phases, Darwen Vale High School has been transformed with over a £20m investment and is very near to completion.
The new state of the art development has been taking shape over the last year close to the boundary of Blackburn and Darwen and is set to open to pupils in September 2012. The Balfour Beatty constructed building, both inside and out is impressive and the interior is set to provide a stunning environment for students to flourish academically.
From the outset Unistage were keen to be involved and provide a multi functional staging area to enhance performance related studies within the school.
Successfully tendering for the modular staging part of the project meant Unistage could work closer with the school, Balfour Beatty and Space, the interior designers, to provide the new look Darwen Vale with a performance area to meet their exact requirements.
During consultation with the school and their staff, it was established that one of the most important features for the staging, along with the versatility and ease of use, was that it needed to be exceptionally quiet. Darwen Vale regularly showcase outstanding contemporary dance and want to utilise the staging for this. The staff were extemely impressed by the products and service Unistage offered and resulted in Balfour Beatty being able to sign off the project and hand the order to Unistage.
